Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AcreRoot ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. About AcreRoot

AcreRoot is an online marketplace platform that connects local vendors (farmers, makers, bakers, artisans, and other food-related sellers) with customers in their community. AcreRoot facilitates connections and transactions but is not a party to individual transactions between vendors and customers.

3. Vendor Eligibility & Allowed Products

To list products on AcreRoot, vendors must meet the following requirements:

  • All vendors must sell products that are in some way related to food. This includes but is not limited to: fresh produce, meat and poultry, dairy, eggs, baked goods, preserves, honey, artisan foods, beverages, and food-related handmade goods.
  • Vendors must comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding the sale of food products.
  • AcreRoot maintains a list of Preferred Vendor Types. Vendors outside these categories may still apply but are subject to additional review.

AcreRoot reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to block, suspend, or permanently remove any vendor who does not meet eligibility requirements, sells non-food-related products, violates these Terms, or is otherwise determined to be inconsistent with the AcreRoot community standards. Vendors who are removed will not receive a refund for any remaining subscription period.

4. Vendor Subscriptions & Billing

Vendors receive a 2-month free trial upon registration. After the trial period, a monthly subscription fee applies to keep your booth active. Subscription fees are non-refundable. AcreRoot reserves the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice.

5. Platform Fees

A 2% platform fee applies to all online payments processed through AcreRoot's Stripe integration. This fee is visible to customers at checkout. There are no platform fees for in-person/cash payments arranged directly between vendors and customers.

6. User Conduct

Users agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users
  • Use the platform for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent payment processing or defraud other users
  • Sell products that violate local food safety laws

7. Transactions & Liability

AcreRoot is a marketplace platform that connects vendors and customers. AcreRoot is not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of products sold by vendors. All disputes regarding products should be resolved directly between the vendor and customer. AcreRoot may assist in dispute resolution at its discretion but is not obligated to do so.

8. Privacy

AcreRoot collects user information to operate the platform, including name, email, ZIP code, and order history. We do not sell personal information to third parties. Payment information is handled securely by Stripe and is never stored on AcreRoot servers.

9. Changes to Terms

AcreRoot reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform following changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
